Despite having a small number of screens, both Uri The Surgical Strike and The Accidental Prime Minister posted good totals in the first weekend. Both films got bad ratings from movie critics because of their political nature, but moviegoers bestowed high praise on them.

As per the box office reports, UTSS amassed 15.10 crore on first Sunday whereas TAPM earned 6.05 crore. The budget of Uri is about 25 crore, so it has the potential to earn SuperHit tag in its lifetime. Uri should easily cross 55 crore mark in its first week as word of mouth publicity is excellent.

Friday (Day 1): ₹ 8.20 cr
Saturday (Day 2): ₹ 12.43 cr
Sunday (Day 3): ₹ 15.10 cr
Total: ₹ 35.73 cr

Considering the fact that TAPM’s budget is about 22 crore, the film is safe as it would recover costs and also make some profits for its makers. TAPM should near the 25 crore mark in its first week as it also has good word of mouth publicity.
