Salman’s latest movie Tubelight has indeed become a tubelight at the box office. Despite being a solo release, the movie did not live up to the expectation on its opening day. The budget of the film is more than 100 crores, so an average opening is never going to make its makers happy.
As per the trade reports, the occupancy on the second day is along the lines of that on the first day i.e. 40-45%. So, the collection may also remain in the same range.
#Tubelight DAY2 OCCUPICY REPORT
MUMBAI – 45-50%
PUNE – 75%+
DELHI – 35-40%
PUNJAB – 40%+

The problem with this movie is the execution of a poor story. It is full of many lame moments that frustrate moviegoers. If it doesn’t witness a good jump on Monday (Eid), even Salman’s stardom will not be able to save the fate of the movie. As per the box office reports, the movie garnered 21.17 crores on the second day to take its total domestic box office collection to 42.32 crores after two days.

It failed to show any growth on the second day, which means the word of mouth publicity is not very exciting for the film. On Sunday and Monday, the average collection may be about 25 crores. So, the film will fail to cross 100 crores in its extended first weekend. From the current trend at the ticket counters, it seems that the movie may not touch even 200 crores.
