Although Salman’s new release Tubelight is performing below expectations in both domestic and international markets, his stardom could save the film at least in the first weekend. Despite being a solo release, the film is finding it really tough to get footfalls because of poor execution of a script. The kind of growth it witnessed over the weekend insinuates that it might face a huge drop in the collection during weekdays.
As per the early reports, the movie is not able to bring moviegoers in mass to the theaters even on holiday (Eid), so the collection might drop on Monday. Despite all these negativities, the film performed really well in its first weekend and worldwide grossed more than 100 crores. The movie grossed 89 crores in India and 26 crores in other markets to take its total gross earning to 115 crores after 3 days. As the word of mouth publicity for the movie is average, its lifetime collection will definitely be immensely affected.
