Akshay Kumar’s 2017 hit Toilet: Ek Prem Katha enjoyed a much larger release than previous releases ‘Hindi Medium’ and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ at the Chinese box office. The film, which won many hearts in the country and was hailed as a powerful venture based on a social message, debuted at no. 2 in China.
As per the box office reports, the film collected $2.36 mn ( 15.94 crores) on its first Friday in the Chinese market. The film has got positive reviews and the Chines audience have also given the thumbs up, so it should repeat the similar performance during the weekend and may cross 50 crores in 3 days.

As per trade analyst Taran, the film released on 11,500 screens and was having 56,000 shows every day. But looking at the demand, the shows may be increased to 58,000. TEPK was released in China on June 8 with title ‘Toilet Hero’.
