Akshay Kumar starrer Toilet: Ek Prem Katha performed superbly in first week. The film managed to cross 20 crores on Sunday and Tuesday, but the kind of drop it witnessed after holidays was a clear sign of its struggle in second week. That huge drop also insinuated that Akshay Kumar has to wait again to cross 150 crores at the domestic box office. Though some of the trade pundits declared that huge drop as a normal drop and mentioned that it would gain momentum during weekend, which did not happen.
As per the box office reports, the film amassed 19 crores in second weekend to take its total domestic box office collection to 115 crores after 10 days. The daily collection of the film is as follows:
Day 1: 13.10 Crores, Day 2: 17.10 Crores, Day 3: 21.25 Crores, Day 4: 12 Crores, Day 5: 20.00 Crores, Day 6: 6.50 Crores, Day 7: 6.10 Crores, Day 8: 4.00 Crores, Day 9: 6.75 Crores, Day 10: 8.25 Crores

The film had to collected at least 25 crores in second weekend to cross 150 crores in its lifetime. Two new releases came as a surprise for TEPK as no one had expected that Hollywood’s Annabelle: Creation, and Bollywood’s Bareilly Ki Barfi will give any competition to TEPK. Though TEPK remained the first choice for moviegoers in second weekend too, but the new releases definitely put a dent in the lifetime collection of TEPK. It may still be the biggest grosser for Akshay Kumar by surpassing Rowdy Rathore, but it has to maintain its momentum during weekdays to achieve that feat.
