Despite getting 2500+ screens, Taapsee Pannu starrer Thappad failed to get the desired number of footfalls on Friday. Since all critics have given good ratings to the movie, it will grow during the weekend. But the lifetime collection may remain below-par. The film is performing only in big cities; the contribution from small cities is negligible. The current trend at the ticket windows suggests that the first-weekend collection will be in the range of 14-15 crore. Tiger Shroff’s action flick Baaghi 3 will release on next Friday. So, if Thappad does not remain steady during the weekday, the lifetime collection will be 25-27 crore.
Thappad is a Bollywood drama film directed and co-produced by Anubhav Sinha. The film stars Taapsee Pannu as a woman who files for divorce after her husband slaps her. It was theatrically released on 28 February 2020.
