After posting a good total in the first weekend, Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma starrer Sui Dhaaga continued its marathon on Monday too. The drop in the collection with respect to Friday is about 15%, which is far better than the industry average. As per the box office reports, the film collected 7 crore on first Monday to take its total domestic box office collection to 43.60 crore after 4 days. Tuesday is a national holiday in India, so the collection will soar up again and the movie will score a half-century on its fifth day. Sui Dhaaga is not a purely commercial film and it has already recovered its cost from satellite and music rights. The box office earning will help its ROI go past 100%.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the collection of the movie on twitter. “#SuiDhaaga has a STRONG Day 4… A decline of 15.66% on Day 4 [vis-à-vis Day 1] indicates SOLID HOLD… Big holiday today will boost biz and add to a BIG TOTAL… Fri 8.30 cr, Sat 12.25 cr, Sun 16.05 cr, Mon 7 cr. Total: ₹ 43.60 cr. India biz.“, he wrote.
Looking at the current trend, it seems that Sui Dhaaga will garner 62+ crore in its first week. It will have several new competitors next week. Although none of the new releases is a big movie, the collection of Sui Dhaaga will be affected if even one of them could get appreciations from moviegoers.
The box office collection of the film is as follows:
Friday (Day 1): ₹ 8.30 cr
Saturday (Day 2): ₹ 12.25 cr
Sunday (Day 3): ₹ 16.05 cr
Monday (Day 4): ₹ 7 cr.
Total: ₹ 43.60 cr.
