Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma starrer Sui Dhaaga did decent business on its opening day in the Indian market. The film was expected to amass 10+ crore on Friday, but the final match of Asia Cup affected its evening shows. It could not manage the desired number of footfalls in the evening shows to post a double-digit earning.
As per the box office reports, the film earned 8.30 crore on its first Friday. The moviegoers have given thumbs up to the film, so its collection should cross 10 crore on both Saturday and Sunday. Looking at the current trend, it seems that the weekend collection will be 30+ crore. It has already recovered its cost from satellite rights and music rights. It features big stars and is a YRF film, so half-century should be within its reach.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the collection of the movie on twitter. “#SuiDhaaga has an encouraging Day 1… Had an ordinary start in the morning shows, but gathered momentum as the day progressed… Film lost out on a big chunk of biz due to #AsiaCup2018 finals but should recover lost ground on Day 2… Fri ₹ 8.30 cr [2500 screens]. India biz.“, he wrote.
Directed by Dum Laga Ke Haisha fame Sharat Katariya, Sui Dhaaga is the story of a husband and wife who take control of their lives by establishing their own textile business.
The box office collection of the film is as follows:
Friday (Day 1): ₹ 8.30 cr
Total: ₹ 8.30 cr
