As expected Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma starrer Sui Dhaaga enjoyed approx. 47% jump in the collection on first Saturday. Riding on positive word of mouth, the film was able to attract its target audiences. The opening collection got affected because of the final match of the Asia Cup. However, it managed good recovery on the second day.
As per the box office reports, the film amassed 12.25 crore on Saturday to take its total domestic box office collection to 20.55 crore after two days. The film has an enormous chance to go past 35 crore mark in the first weekend. Also, Tuesday is a holiday in India, so the first-week collection may surpass 55 crore. The movie is performing along the lines of expectations in all regions, which is a positive sign in long run.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the collection of the movie on twitter. “#SuiDhaaga zooms upwards on Day 2… Catches speed at metros and mass belt… The target audience [families] have taken to the film, thus converting into increased footfalls… Expect a SOLID Day 3… Fri 8.30 cr, Sat 12.25 cr.
