Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree has become the 9th film of 2018 to join the Rs. 100 Crore club. The film achieved this feat on its sixteenth day at the box office. Despite facing competition from several movies at the ticket counters, Stree is doing excellent business even in the third week.
As per the box office reports, the film earned 3.76 crore on third Saturday to take its total domestic box office collection to 101.43 crore after 16 days. The film should surpass 105 crore in the third weekend. The current trend suggests that it may go past 120 crore mark in its lifetime.
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the collection of the movie, “And #Stree hits a century… Crosses ₹ ? cr mark… [Week 3] Fri 2.14 cr, Sat 3.76 cr. Total: ₹ 101.43 cr. India biz… This one’s a LOTTERY for its investors.”
Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film received positive critical reviews and is the highest-grossing film of Rajkummar’s career as a leading man. Previously, films such as Padmaavat, Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety, Raid, Baaghi 2, Raazi, Race 3, Sanju and Gold had all made more than Rs 100 crore at the Indian box office.
