It was expected that Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar starrer comedy-drama film Shubh Mangal Savdhan will be able to maintain the momentum during weekdays, but it witnessed about 60% decline in the business on Monday compared to Sunday. The film has an excellent word of mouth publicity, so such drop is definitely not a portent of a bright future.
As per the box office reports, the film collected 2.53 crores on its fourth day. The total domestic box office collection of film now stands at 16.99 crores. The daily collection of the film so far is as follows: Fri 2.71 cr, Sat 5.56 cr, Sun 6.19 cr, and Mon 2.53 cr.

Now the film has to remain steady in the remaining three days of first week so that it can reach a good total in its first week. If it drops further from here, the lifetime collection will be impacted. Although no big movie will release on coming Friday, but it will lose some percentage of its screens to the smaller new releases. The first week collection of the film should be 22-23 crores.
