Aamir Khan’s musical drama film Secret Superstar had a decent opening on Thursday as it did not have competition from Golmaal Returns on that day. The film received the best rating from almost all critics, but those good words did not convert into business once Ajay Devgn’s GR hit the screens. Although it was able to manage more than 9 crores on Friday, the expectation was more from Aamir’s movie. Aamir Khan’s presence can’t be called a cameo as his role is about 40-45 minutes, but at the same time, it can not also be called an Aamir Khan’s movie.
As per the box office reports, the film collected 34.36 crores in first four days of the week. The daily collection of the film so far is as follows: Thu 4.80 cr, Fri 9.30 cr, Sat 8.71 cr, Sun 8.50 cr, Mon 3.05 cr.

The Monday collection of the film insinuates bad omen and it might not become another Taare Zameen Par. The makers might have assumed that Golmaal Returns will crash after the weekend and SS will have a smooth run during weekdays, but that did not happen. The screen count of SS is more than 2000, which is similar to a big movie. So, if it loses momentum during weekdays, it might have to make room for the new releases.
