John Abraham and Manoj Bajpayee’s Satyameva Jayate did an excellent business in its first weekend. Despite facing competition from Akshay Kumar’s Gold, the film garnered good collections from small screens. It did an average business in multiplexes because of its competitor and poor content.
As per the box office reports, the film earned about 9.75 crores on Sunday to take its total domestic box office collection to 53.59 crores after 5 days. The budget of the film is about 50 crores, so it has already entered into the profitable zone. Additional 15-20 crores from here will give it HIT status.
The growth over the weekend is minimal, so weekdays are going to be very crucial for an excellent lifetime collection. However, it is on the path to becoming the biggest solo hit for John Abraham. We need to wait for a couple of days to fathom the weekdays’ trend which will give a clear picture of lifetime collection.
The business of the film is as follows:
Wednesday (Day 1): ₹ 20.52 cr
Thursday (Day 2): ₹ 7.92 cr
Friday (Day 3): ₹ 8.15 cr
Saturday (Day 4): ₹ 7.25 cr
Sunday (Day 5): ₹ 9.75 cr
Total: ₹ 53.59 cr
