Sanju, Ranbir Kapoor’s latest release directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, has been enjoying a glorious run at the box office since its opening day. The film has shattered several box office records on its way and is now all set to become the third biggest grosser in the history of Hindi movies. By surpassing the collection of PK, it will also become the biggest hit for Rajkumar Hirani. Hirani’s PK had long weekends and holidays, but Sanju did not get those x-factors.
As per the box office reports, the film amassed 10.48 crores in the fourth week to take its total domestic box office collection to 337.28 crores after 28 days. The major drop in the collection came in the third week, otherwise, it would have toppled Dangal from the second spot. It will again lose several screens this week because of new releases, so the collection will drop further. Looking at the current trend at the ticket counters, it seems that it will cross 340 crores in the fifth weekend.
Trade analyst and movie critic Taran Adarsh shared the latest Box Office report on Twitter on Friday. “#Sanju continues its GLORIOUS RUN… Should cross #TigerZindaHai and #PK *lifetime biz* in Week 5… [Week 4] Fri 1.28 cr, Sat 2.19 cr, Sun 3.28 cr, Mon 1 cr, Tue 98 lakhs, Wed 90 lakhs, Thu 85 lakhs.
