Ranbir Kapoor’s Sanju has started with a bang at the box office despite being a non-holiday release. The film had one of the biggest advance bookings in the history of Indian cinema, so a humongous opening collection was on the cards. It has lived up to all the hypes because of director Hirani who has delivered several big hits in past.
As per the box office reports, the film amassed 34.75 crores on its first Friday. The word of mouth for the movie is extremely positive, so it should not find any hurdle in crossing 100 crores in the first weekend.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the collection of the film. “Non-holiday… Non-festival release… Yet, #Sanju packs a PHENOMENAL TOTAL on Day 1… Emerges the BIGGEST OPENER of 2018 [so far]… Also, Ranbir’s HIGHEST OPENER to date… Expected to cross ₹ 100 cr in 3 days, as per trends… Fri ₹ 34.75 cr.
