Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity has surged to new heights, potentially securing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) a third consecutive victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, as per a recent Ipsos IndiaBus survey. According to the Ipsos IndiaBus PM Approval Rating Survey of February 2024, Prime Minister Modi has achieved an approval rating of 75%, which is a significant increase from the previous year’s 65% approval rating.
The survey revealed that people aged between 18-30 years gave PM Modi an approval rating of 75%, while the highest ratings came from the 45+ group (79%). The North Zone of the country had the maximum approval for PM Modi with 92%, followed by the East Zone (84%) and West Zone (80%). Meanwhile, the South Zone recorded the lowest approval of 35%.
The respondents were polled face-to-face and online, and the data was weighted by demographics and city-class population to arrive at the national average. According to the survey, the areas where the Modi government has performed well are primarily in the fields of education, sanitation, cleanliness, and healthcare. However, the government’s performance was average in pollution and environmental issues (56%), reducing poverty (45%), controlling inflation (44%), solving unemployment (43%), and removing corruption (42%).
Despite the challenges, PM Modi’s growing popularity and approval for his government’s performance signal promising prospects for the BJP in the upcoming elections. As the nation prepares for the electoral battle, these survey results reflect the evolving political landscape and the importance of public sentiment in shaping India’s democratic future.
