John Abraham and Diana Penty starrer Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran saw an excellent jump in its box office collection on Saturday. Riding on the strong word of mouth, the film enjoyed a surge of about 59 percent in its business on the second day.As per the box office reports, the film collected 7.64 crores on first Saturday to take its total domestic box office collection to 12.46 crores. The film has got positive feedback from both critics and moviegoers, so Sunday collection might witness a good jump and the film may cross 21 crores in its first weekend.

The IPL final might have some effect on the collection on Sunday, but it should not be very significant considering the fact that moviegoers have heaped praises on the film. ‘Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran’ is based on the nuclear bomb test explosions conducted by the Indian Army at Pokhran in 1998. The film, directed by Abhishek Sharma and written by Saiwyn Quadras, Sanyuktha Chawla Sheikh and Abhishek Sharma, also stars Boman Irani playing a crucial part.
