John Abraham and Diana Penty starrer Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran had an excellent growth on Saturday after an average opening but couldn’t grow on the expected lines on Sunday because of IPL 2018 final. The film has a very strong word of mouth, so it should be able to maintain the momentum during weekdays.
As per the box office reports, the film collected 8.32 crores on Sunday to take its total domestic box office collection to 20.78 crores after 3 days. The opening weekend of Parmanu: The Story of Pokharan is bigger than October, Hichki and 102 Not Out. But the cost of Parmanu is on the higher side as compared to those films.
#Parmanu crosses ₹ 20 cr mark… RESPECTABLE TOTAL… Limited promotion/awareness + #IPL semi-finals [Fri] and #IPL finals [Sun] hit biz hard… Weekdays crucial… Fri 4.82 cr, Sat 7.64 cr, Sun 8.32 cr. Total: ₹ 20.78 cr [1935 screens]. India biz.

Also, the film has just one open week because next week it will face competition from Veere Di Wedding and Bhavesh Joshi Superhero. The budget of Parmanu is about 45 crores, so it needs to maintain the momentum during weekdays to post a decent total in the first week.
The business of the film is as follows:
Friday (Day 1): ₹ 4.82 cr
Saturday (Day 2): ₹ 7.64 cr
Sunday (Day 3): ₹ 8.32 cr
Total: ₹ 20.78 cr
IPL has hit it, otherwise it would have scored 30 crores
