Director Abhishek Sharma’s Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran has been receiving praise for a gripping script and amazing performances by John Abraham, Diana Penty, and other cast members. Although the film had an average opening, it was able to maintain its momentum in the first week.As per the box office reports, the film collected 35.42 crores in the first 7 days at the box office. The collection does not look exciting considering the fact that the movie has many big faces, but now it seems that it should be able to recover its cost. The film might show a dip in the light of the new releases which are lined up this weekend, including two of Bollywood’s much-awaited flicks – Veere Di Wedding and Bhavesh Joshi Superhero.

Looking at the current trend at the ticket counters, it seems that the film is heading towards 42-43 crores by the end of its second weekend. The film has a very strong word of mouth, so it should be able to get the desired number of footfalls in the second week to reach the milestone of 50 crores in its lifetime. “Sometimes films are made for commercial reasons, and sometimes a film is made because the story needs to be told. And Parmanu is a story that needs to be told,” said John about Parmanu.
