R Balki directorial PadMan enjoyed a good jump in the collection on Sunday, but the overall weekend figure does not look impressive. The film, which revolves around menstrual health and the need for cheaper and accessible sanitary napkin, could not garner enough footfalls in its first weekend. From the very first look and story, it was evident that the film would struggle at the ticket counters. But, scoring less than 50 crores in first 3 days insinuates a bad future at the box office. As per the box office reports, the film collected 16.11 crores on first Sunday to take its total domestic box office collection to 40.05 crores. The daily collection of the film in its first week is as follows: Fri 10.26 cr, Sat 13.68 cr, Sun 16.11 cr.
#PadMan showed GOOD TRENDING over the weekend… Starting on ordinary levels, the momentum over the weekend helped put up a credible total… Word of mouth is strong… Weekdays are crucial… Fri 10.26 cr, Sat 13.68 cr, Sun 16.11 cr. Total: ₹ 40.05 cr. India biz.

The first weekend collection of Padman is very similar to Airlift, but Padman might find it hard to perform like latter during weekdays. Also, the film has just one open week, so such low collection will mar its lifetime prospect. There are partial holidays on Tuesday and Wednesday. If it could earn 10+ crores on both days, it will have some chance to become a member of the 100-crore club. The collection from small cities and single screens is negligible, so it has a daunting task ahead to score a century at the box office.
