Varun Dhawan’s October had a below average opening on Friday but gained some momentum over the weekend because of positive word of mouth. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, the film stars Banita Sandhu opposite Varun. The growth on Saturday was approx. 48%, but it could not repeat the similar growth on Sunday and hence its first-weekend collection remained below par. As per the box office reports, the film collected 7.74 crores on Sunday to take its total domestic box office collection to 20.25 crores after 3 days. The daily collection of the film in its first week is as follows: Fri 5.04 cr, Sat 7.47 cr, Sun 7.74 cr.
#October witnessed ample growth on Sat and Sun, after a slow start on Fri morning/noon… While the trending is healthy, it’s all about maintaining the pace on weekdays now… Fri 5.04 cr, Sat 7.47 cr, Sun 7.74 cr. Total: ₹ 20.25 cr. India biz.

For the film to post a healthy box office number, it would have to continue earning money on the weekdays now. The budget of the film is about 45 crores, so it might be able to put a smile on its makers’ face at the end of its box office journey. Varun has emerged as the most bankable stars of his generation at the ticket windows — of his five release, four have crossed Rs 100-crore-mark at the BO. He has also not given a single flop in his career till date.
Adding 25 crores more seems a difficult task unless weekdays collection remain steady.
