Anurag Kashyap’s sports drama film Mukkabaaz started its box office journey on a slow note but witnessed some growth in the collection on Saturday and Sunday. Because of the competition, the film had a limited scope of growth and hence the weekend collection remained below 5 crores. A poor weekend is definitely going to hurt the film in the long run as two big movies will come to the theaters on 25 January.
As per the box office reports, the film collected 4.04 crores in the opening weekend. The daily collection of the film in its first week is as follows: Fri 82 lakhs, Sat 1.51 cr, Sun 1.71 cr.
#Mukkabaaz Fri 82 lakhs, Sat 1.51 cr, Sun 1.71 cr. Total: ₹ 4.04 cr. India biz.

This is for the first time when Anurag Kashyap has attempted something like this, moving out of his comfort zone. Usually, an Anurag Kashyap film is full of cuss language and blood-shed, becoming unfit for family viewing. If the film could not maintain the pace during weekdays, it might turn out another disastrous film of Anurag Kashyap. Anyway, the probability of lifetime collection crossing 10 crores seems very close to zero.
