Indian black comedy film written and directed by Alankrita Shrivastava, Lipstick Under My Burkha, did not get a large share of screens in the domestic market because the film does not have any big star. But, it seems that moviegoers really liked the content of the film. Although the film had a below-average opening on Friday, positive word of mouth did work for it. In January 2017, the Central Board of Film Certification refused to certify the film because there are contagious sexual scenes, abusive words, audio pornography and a bit sensitive touch about one particular section of society.
As per the box office reports, the movie collected Fri 1.22 cr, Sat 2.17 cr, and Sun 2.41 cr. to take its total domestic box office collection to 5.80 crores in 3 days.

The movie has been released on 400 screens and the budget is only 6.5 crores, so it is going to be a successful venture for the makers. It might become one of the best movies of 2017 in terms of ROI. A decent jump in the collection during weekend shows its potential to cross 15 crores in lifetime.
