Irrfan Khan’s latest film Karwaan had an awful first weekend as it failed to cross even 10 crores mark in first 3 days. Although it was able to beat the competitors Funney Khan and Mulk, a poor first weekend may lead to a disastrous lifetime collection.
As per the box office reports, the film collected 7.75 crores in first three days at the box office. The film was able to gain some momentum over the weekend due to multiplexes in Bangalore, however, poor footfalls in other regions might make it struggle during weekdays. The film is a low budget, so the weekdays’ collection will decide its box office fate.
Karwaan is a road trip movie and is about three eccentric characters hailing from different backgrounds who undertake a bizarre journey of self-discovery and bonding. Irrfan Khan has worked in road trip movies before – Piku and Qarib Qarib Singlle.
The box office collection of the film is as follows:
Friday (Day 1): ₹ 1.50 cr
Saturday (Day 2): ₹ 2.75 cr
Sunday (Day 3): ₹ 3.50 cr
Total: ₹ 7.75 cr
