Akshay Kumar’s latest multi-starrer film, Housefull 5, had a decent opening on Friday at the Indian box office. Thanks to positive word-of-mouth from audiences and good reviews from critics, the film attracted a decent number of viewers on its opening day. However, the first-day collection may be well below the makers’ expectations. Housefull 5 is the fifth movie in this comedy franchise. While some of its earlier installments really made people laugh in theaters, others were underwhelming. Still, most of the films in this franchise have been successful overall.

In recent years, Akshay Kumar’s stardom has declined, and Bollywood is facing backlash from some moviegoers because of its perceived alignment with Pakistan. As a result, Housefull 5 may not become a massive hit. Given the big names in the cast, the movie’s budget is very high. It needs to collect at least 250 crores to be considered a hit. Let’s see how it performs during its full run at the box office.
Housefull 5 is a Bollywood comedy thriller film co-written and directed by Tarun Mansukhani, and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Warda Nadiadwala, and Firuzi Khan under the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner. The film features an ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Shreyas Talpade, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Dino Morea, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Chitrangada Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Soundarya Sharma, Chunky Pandey, Nikitin Dheer, and Johnny Lever. Initially set to release during Diwali 2024, the film was postponed and finally released worldwide on 6 June 2025.
