Sajid-Farhad directed romantic comedy flick Housefull 3 enjoyed over 33% growth in the collection on Sunday in the domestic market and as a result of this superb jump, HF3 become the highest Sunday grosser of 2016. This film also became the highest first weekend grosser for Akshay Kumar.
As per the box office reports, the movie amassed approx 21.80 crores on first Sunday to take its total domestic box office collection to 53.31 crores and became the highest first weekend grosser of 2016 replacing SRK’s Fan. The film also performed exceptionally well in the overseas market in first weekend and garnered approx 26.77 crores. The upward trend on Saturday and Sunday suggests that the moviegoers and critics are from different planets; moviegoers don’t care what critics say. It seems that the junta really liked this masala flick and it might not witness drastic fall during weekdays. If the movie can cross 80 crores in first week, it has enormous chance to become a part of 100 crores club.
