Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar starrer film Hindi Medium had a poor opening on first Friday. Despite getting good ratings from movie critics, it could not fetch good number of footfalls to put a smile on makers’ face. The reasons for poor opening are lack of big star in the movie and less number of screens.
As per the box office reports, the first day domestic box office collection of the movie is 2.81 crores. The movie has stiff competition from other releases – Half Girlfriend and Bahubali 2, so the growth in the collection during weekend will be small. Also, Sunday evening shows will be impacted due to IPL final.

Looking at the current trend at bookmyshow, it seems that first weekend collection of the movie may be in single digit.
