Sonakshi Sinha starrer Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi had a slow start at the box office. The movie is the sequel to 2016 film Happy Bhag Jayegi and stars Sonakshi Sinha, Jimmy Sheirgill, Ali Fazal and Jassi Gill. The first installment was not a hit movie, so the expectation was not very high from the second installment. The collection is along the lines of the opening collection of the first part.
As per the box office reports, the film earned 2.70 crores on first Friday. The first-day collection of part one was 2.32 crores. Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi has received largely negative reviews and the word of mouth is also below average. So, the film might find it hard to post a decent total in the first weekend. Considering the star cast of the film, the collection is very poor and it may not cross 10 crores in the first 3 days.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted out the figures, saying, “#HappyPhirrBhagJayegi has a slow start on Day 1… Fared better in North… Needs to witness substantial growth over the weekend + maintain a strong trend on weekdays to leave a mark… Fri ₹ 2.70 cr. India biz… First part had collected ₹ 2.32 cr on Day 1.”
Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi’s poor performance may be attributed to Akshay Kumar’s Gold and John Abraham’s Satyameva Jayate, both of which are still doing well at the box office.
