Gold Box Office Collection Day 1 | Biggest Opener for Akshay Kumar

Despite getting only 3050 screens, Akshay Kumar’s latest sports drama film Gold has performed exceptionally well on its opening day. The film has not only become the biggest opener for Mr. Khiladi and its director but also one of the top 5 openers of 2018.  Riding on positive word of mouth and excellent critics ratings, the film managed to get the third best occupancy of 2018 in the morning shows.Gold Box Office Collection Day 1 | Biggest Opener for Akshay Kumar

As per the box office reports, the film amassed 25.25 crores on day one at the domestic box office. The film became the first choice for the moviegoers in big cities, but John Abraham’s Satyameva Jayate gave it a tough fight in tier-2 and tier-3 cities on the first day. Gold is not a typical Bollywood masala film whereas Satyameva Jayate is a masala film, so competition in small cities was not unexpected.

Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the collection of the film. He wrote, “#Gold has an EXTRAORDINARY Day 1… Takes a FAB START at plexes across major centres… Wed ₹ 25.25 cr. India biz.

Gold will have some decline in the collection on Thursday because it’s not a holiday, but it should gain momentum from Friday onward as the multiplex audiences will come in large numbers during the weekend. The film will definitely become the biggest hit for its director Reema Kagti. Can it also become Akshay Kumar’s biggest hit by surpassing the lifetime collection of Toilet- Ek Prem Katha? We have to wait for a few days to know the answer to this question.

The business of the film is as follows:
Wednesday (Day 1): ₹ 25.25 cr
Total: ₹ 25.25 cr
