Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anil Kapoor’s latest release Fanney Khan failed miserably at the box office in its opening week. The film had a better opening than other releases of the last week, but poor word of mouth marred its box office prospect and it could not cross the Rs. 10 crores mark in its first week.
As per the box office reports, the film earned 9.35 crores in first 7 days at the domestic box office. The overseas collection of the film is also extremely poor. The film had competition from several new and old releases, however, it was expected to post 15+ crores in its first week. On Wednesday (15th August), Akshay Kumar’s Gold and John Abraham’s Satyamev Jayate will hit the screens, so Fanney Khan has no chance to touch 15 crores mark in its lifetime.
The box office collection of the film is as follows:
Friday (Day 1): ₹ 1.90 cr
Saturday (Day 2): ₹ 2.25 cr
Sunday (Day 3): ₹ 2.60 cr
Monday (Day 4): ₹ 0.75 cr
Tuesday (Day 5): ₹ 0.70 cr
Wednesday (Day 6): ₹ 0.60 cr
Thursday (Day 7): ₹ 0.55 cr
Total: ₹ 9.35 cr DISASTER
