Akshay Kumar’s new movie Toilet: Ek Prem Katha was just unstoppable on Monday as it collected in double digits on its fourth day at the ticket counters. Although some of the critics thrashed the movie, it looks like moviegoers have given thumb up and as a result of that it is going to post a humongous total in first week. Monday was a partial holiday in some parts of India, so it’s only content that is pulling people to the theaters.
As per the box office reports, the film collected 12 crores on Monday to take its total domestic box office collection to 63.45 crores after 4 days. The daily collection of the film is as follows:
- Day 1: 13.10 Crores, Day 2: 17.10 Crores, Day 3: 21.25 Crores, Day 4: 12 Crores
#ToiletEkPremKatha is on a DREAM RUN… Fri 13.10 cr, Sat 17.10 cr, Sun 21.25 cr, Mon 12 cr. Total: ₹ 63.45 cr. India biz… #TEPK

Tuesday is a big holiday in India and there is a possibility that the film can cross 20 crores on fifth day as the occupancy is more compared to Sunday. Late evening shows might have lower occupancy because Wednesday is a working day. If it could manage to touch 20 crores on Tuesday, it might score a century in just 7/8 days. The big positive for the movie is its phenomenal run in small cities in north India, so a huge drop in collection in second weekend is not expected, however, it has to perform really well in second weekend to cross 150 crores. If we go by the words of trade pundits, TEPK may become the biggest hit by surpassing the collection of SRK’s Raees (137 crores). This is going to be the fifth hit film for Akshay Kumar in 19 months, so we can say HIT machine is back again. :)
