The first week collection of SRK’s one of the most awaited movies Dilwale is out and it is now obvious that its competitor Bajirao Mastani affected it so badly in the domestic market that it became one of the underperforming films for Shahrukh Khan. Though the movie could score more than a half century, the total collection remained below par.
As per the box office reports, the movie showed some jump in the collection on Sunday and collected about 24 crores. Thus, the total domestic box office collection of the movie in the first weekend is 65 crores. As we all know that the box office reporters/distributors/producers always add a couple of extra crores to the collection of big star’s movies to show it a successful venture, we can assume that the actual collection might be about 60-61 crores. The movie got poor-to-average rating from the moviegoers, so it might witness a drastic drop in the collection during the weekdays. As per the current status from the online booking portal bookmyshow, it seems that the collection might come down in single digit unless it improves in the evening shows. Also, the Hollywood biggie ‘Star Wars’ will hit the Indian theaters next week, so it will be really interesting to see which movie is going to lose more screens in the second weekend.
