Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter starrer Dhadak defied the competition from two new releases – Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3 starring Sanjay Dutt and Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – Fallout. Although the collection dropped on Friday, it came back on track on Saturday. The film witnessed about 55% jump in the collection on Saturday compared with Friday.
As per the box office reports, the film earned 4.02 crores on second Saturday to take its total domestic box office collection to 58.19 crores after 9 days. Sanjay Datt’s Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3 has failed miserably at the ticket counters, but MI6 is giving tough competition to Dhadak. Despite Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Dhadak’s fortunes should rise further on Sunday and the film should rake in good money.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted out the figures. “#Dhadak is back on track on second Sat… Growth on second Sat [vis-à-vis second Fri]: 54.02%… Expected to witness gains on second Sun too… [Week 2] Fri 2.61 cr, Sat 4.02 cr. Total: ₹ 58.19 cr. India biz,” he wrote.
Being a Hindi remake of the Marathi super hit film Sairat, the expectations were very high for Dhadak. Although many critics gave poor ratings to the film, moviegoers gave it thumbs-up and hence it has had a fairly good collection at the box-office.
The box office collection of the film is as follows:
Week 1: ₹ 51.56 cr
Friday (Day 8): ₹ 2.61 cr
Saturday (Day 9): ₹ 4.02 cr
Total: ₹ 58.19 cr
