Irrfan Khan and Kirti Kulhari starrer comedy film Blackmail had a poor opening despite getting a large number of screens. The film depicts the life of a middle-aged married man stuck in a full day-time job and unexciting life but things turn after he finds that his wife is having an extramarital affair. Blackmail opened to middling reviews on Friday but Irrfan Khan’s performance has particularly been singled out as brilliant.
As per the box office reports, the film collected only 2.81 crores on Friday. The collections on Saturday and Sunday are going to be very crucial for its lifetime collection.
#Blackमेल had a slow start in morning shows, but gathered momentum post evening at plexes [like most metro-centric movies]… Sat and Sun biz is crucial… Will give an idea of how strong it will sustain on weekdays… Fri ₹ 2.81 cr. India biz.

The opening of the film is along the lines of Irrfan’s Hindi Medium which went on to be a HIT. This film is mainly for multiplex audiences, so IPL matches are definitely going to hurt its collection. It will be a daunting task for the film to repeat the performance of Hindi Medium.
Very nice movie. Enjoyed it.
