Shraddha and Shahid Kapoor’s Batti Gul Meter Chalu continued its struggle at the box office even on Saturday. After posting an average opening total, the film was expected to witness good jump on the second day, but the collection failed to touch 10 crore.
As per the box office reports, the film earned 7.96 crore on first Saturday to take its total domestic box office collection to 14.72 crore after two days. The film needs big jump on Sunday to surpass 25 crore in its opening weekend. The moviegoers have given thumbs-up to the movie and it has also received decent reviews from many critics, but those praises are not converting into business. It should become a profitable venture for the makers because of the low budget.
Film trade analyst Tarah Adarsh took to Twitter, saying the film needs miraculous growth on Day 3 for a decent weekend collection. He wrote, “#BattiGulMeterChalu witnesses 17.75% growth on Day 2, but since the starting point was low, the 2-day total is lackluster… Needs miraculous growth on Day 3 – in double digits – for a respectable weekend total… Fri 6.76 cr, Sat 7.96 cr. Total: ₹ 14.72 cr. India biz. #BGMC”
The box office collection of the film is as follows:
Friday (Day 1): ₹ 6.76 cr
Saturday (Day 2): ₹ 7.96 cr
Total: ₹ 14.72 cr
