Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Bajirao Mastani witnessed growth in the collection during weekdays due to Christmas holidays in India. The daily collection during weekday was either in double digit or very close to that and as a result of this unprecedented trend at the ticket counters, it posted a fabulous total at the end of the first week.
As per the box office reports, the movie amassed 12.80 cr on Friday, 15.52 cr on Saturday, 18.45 cr on Sunday, 10.25 cr on Monday, 9.40 cr on Tuesday, 9.21 cr on Wednesday, and 10.52 cr on Thursday to take its total domestic box office collection to 86.15 crores in the first week. The weekdays collection of the movie has surpassed that of its competitor Dilwale. Both Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani will be impacted by the new Hollywood release Star Wars, but only second weekend collection can insinuate the impact and the future prospect these Bollywood movies. If the film could maintain good growth during second weekend, it has enormous chance to cross 150 crores in the domestic market as no new release will hit the the theaters before 8th Jan.
