Ayushmann Khurrana’s new release Badhai Ho has started with a bang at the box office. The film had generated tremendous excitement among the moviegoers because of its unique story and the trend suggests that the pre-release buzz may convert into business. Almost all movie critics have given good ratings and the word of mouth publicity is also enormous. So, it should not find any difficulty in making the most of the holiday season.
On the other hand, the public response for Arjun Kapoor’s Namaste England is lukewarm. The film did not find many takers at the ticket counters on its opening day. Critics ratings and moviegoers’ response are also not very exciting, which means it has a tough time ahead and may not enjoy the benefits of the holiday.
Badhai Ho had the 8th best opening of 2018 and the opening collection should be in the range of 7-9 crore. Namaste England had about 10-15% occupancy, which means the opening collection should be in the range of 3-4 crore. We will post the final numbers once they are out.
