The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won four out of five states (Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, and Manipur) in the recent assembly election held in February and March. In UP and Uttarakhand, their victory margin is big, while they just managed the majority seats in Goa and Manipur. As expected, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) got a landslide victory in Punjab. The grand old party, Indian National Congress (INC), was reduced to a non-significant party in those five states. In Uttar Pradesh, the BJP+ got 274/400 seats with a 41.29% vote share. In Uttarakhand, they won 47/70 seats with a 44.33% vote share. The AAP scored a spectacular victory in Punjab, winning 92 seats with 42.01% vote share.
