After posting a good total on Thursday, Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson’s sci-fi action movie 2.0 maintained its momentum on Friday. Because of midweek release, the collection of the movie got affected in big cities. However, the positive word of mouth helped it immensely in the evening and night shows on Friday.
As per the box office reports, 2.0 (Hindi) amassed 18 crore on Friday to take its total domestic box office collection to 38.25 crore after 2 days. The second-day collection in South India should also be very similar to the opening figure. Almost all 3D shows in Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad are 90-100% full on Saturday and Sunday. Delhi, Mumbai, and Gujarat regions were a bit low on Thursday, but weekend 3D shows are 30-50% full. Also, the film is performing extremely well in small multiplexes and single screens. Hindi version will definitely lose its share in South regions because it’s not a Bollywood movie and people will prefer to watch it in local languages. However, the current trend at the ticket windows suggests that the Hindi version should collect 85-95 crore in its first weekend.
The box office collection of 2.0 is as follows:
Thursday (Day 1): ₹ 20.25 Cr
Friday (Day 2): ₹ 18 cr
Total: ₹ 38.25 cr
