Riding on the positive word of mouth, Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson starrer sci-fi action movie 2.0 amassed a huge collection in its first weekend. Despite losing about 10-12% collection in South India, 2.0 (Hindi) reached closer to the century figure in just 4 days.
As per the box office reports, 2.0 (Hindi) garnered 34 crore on Sunday to take its total domestic box office collection to 97.25 crore after 4 days. The worldwide gross collection of the film (all languages) in its first weekend is about ~400 crore. It performed extremely well in both domestic and international markets. It did lose at least 15-20% business because of 2D version; moviegoers did not show much interest in 2D if 3D was available. The film would have set some records in some regions if the makers had not created confusion by promoting only 3D version.
There is no big release till 21 December, so 2.0 (Hindi) has a great chance to cross 150 cr in its lifetime. As the film is doing good business in both small and big cities, the weekday’s collection should remain steady. However, the real trend will be clear after Tuesday only.
