After a small decline on Friday, Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson’s sci-fi action movie 2.0 gained momentum on Saturday. Riding on the positive word of mouth, the film witnessed humongous occupancy for 3D shows in almost all cities. It has been doing extraordinary business in small circuits since its opening day and big circuits joined the party on weekend.
As per the box office reports, 2.0 (Hindi) amassed 25 crore on Saturday to take its total domestic box office collection to 63.25 crore after 3 days. The film is not a Bollywood product; it is a dubbed Tamil film. So, it is losing 10-15% business in South India. Such films always come with a big risk, but 2.0 has received extremely good response from the public. Considering the fact that it’s a non-festive and non-holiday release, the collection can be termed excellent. With excellent advance booking for Sunday, the film is poised to amass about 30 crore on Sunday.
As there is no big release until 21 December, 2.0 (Hindi) may surprise trade pundits with its collections. Overall 2.0 had a good jump in both domestic and international markets on Saturday and Sunday will have a similar trend. So, the gross total may cross 400 crore at the end of the first weekend.
The box office collection of 2.0 is as follows:
Thursday (Day 1): ₹ 20.25 Cr
Friday (Day 2): ₹ 18.00 cr
Saturday (Day 3): ₹ 25.00 cr
Total: ₹ 63.25 cr
